About Me

Hey there! I’m Akshay Sinha, a platform engineering, DevOps and AI enablement leader with 18+ years of experience building DevOps, SRE, cloud, automation and secure delivery platforms across financial services, media and enterprise technology. I like building practical platforms, simplifying complex systems, and helping engineering teams do their best work.

What I’m working on now

As Vice President of DevOps at Morgan Stanley, I lead DevOps, automation and production engineering for the Equity Swaps platforms in Institutional Securities. Lately that means putting GenAI to work on real engineering problems: an AI engineering assistant built on foundation models and RAG, grounded in Jira, incidents, change tickets and documentation; an AI-driven defect intelligence tool that cut manual defect analysis by around 60%; and developer tooling for data lineage and discovery built on Sourcegraph MCP and GitHub Search.

Alongside that, I’ve built DevSecOps platforms on Airflow, Neo4j, GraphQL and Open Policy Agent, plus Kubernetes and OpenShift automation such as OPA-based admission controls and automated Kerberos provisioning.

How I got here

I started at Tata Consultancy Services in 2008, automating build, release and deployment for WebSphere, Java and .NET applications across India and the UK. At HCL Technologies I led DevOps for Comcast, NBC Universal and Universal Studios, working between India and the US. At Cognizant I led DevOps and platform teams for PepsiCo and Universal Studios, built a global NGINX-based API platform, and ran CDN operations on Akamai and Cloudflare.

On the side

I build things: SecureCV, an AI-assisted resume builder for concise one-page resumes; HashtagHarvest, an AI-assisted platform that turns trending topics into content ideas; and local-first AI agents that run on open-source models on consumer hardware. I also mentor in the DevOps, platform engineering and cybersecurity communities and run workshops on OPA, platform security and engineering automation.
